The Complete Resource |

Nature abounds in Massachusetts
and on the North Shore. From Birds and Beavers to Big Cats, the
Boston area is home to a variety of friendly (and not so friendly!)
creatures.
For fans of our fine feathered friends, Massachusetts offers a
tremendous number of bird-watching resources. Local visitors might
see our neighborhood swan, or a cormorant or cardinal. Migratory
birds frequent these waters and woodlands as well. Massachusetts
also has an active Audubon society. One of the most popular
destinations for bird-watchers is Plum Island, located 30 minutes North
of Danvers.
Also on the Northshore: recently there's been a rash of "big cat" sightings.
Local naturalists aren't sure if it's a coyote, a mountain lion, or a
weasel . . . Tracks are inconclusive. |

Important Tip:
Keep your eyes peeled as you travel the area -- especially on highways,
as local deer herds have been protected for several years. |
