Let's face it, we
all need to eat. The only problem is - where?! The Captain
Samuel Fowler House is located across the street from a full-service
Diner, and 1/2 block from 2 other restaurants -- one serving excellent Italian
fare, the other serving a standard lunch and pizza menu. Check out
our section on Danvers for more information, or read on for exploration
in other areas . . .
Travelers to the Boston area are truly fortunate, as
Bostonians have made a science out of eating. A seaport for
centuries, Boston hosts a number of diverse communities, all of whom
also need to eat. From a tasty Guinness Stew at the Plow and Stars
on St. Patrick's Day to the best fresh oysters on the half-shell at Legal
Seafood in Burlington, north shore visitors can experience cuisine from China,
Korean
Kim-Chee, Malaysian
Chicken Satay, and sushi from Japan in a 2 mile radius.
We recently enjoyed dinner at Shabu-Zen,
an excellent hot-pot restaurant in Chinatown.
We won't offer a comprehensive
restaurant guide here, as it's been done elsewhere, and quite well,
but we will mention a few local favorites, as well as provide an
opportunity for you to explore to your heart (and palate's!) content . .
. Don't forget to check out our section on specialty markets for
those times you decide to stay in and cook! |

Boston offers some of the freshest
seafood in the country, but also some of the finest dining in the
world. Our
Pick? We recommend
L'Espalier, a pricey but fabulous restaurant named as Boston's best
for 6 years running. The owner and head chef is a north shore resident
who shops at local farmstands to complete his sumptuous menus. |
