For folks who are new to the
area, business isn't the only thing on their minds. We've put
together a little guide to help you get out and explore, including some of
the best features and eateries in Danvers, and some of the highlights of Boston and the
rest of the North Shore . . .
There's plenty to do in Danvers. Our town is filled with historic sights and modern
conveniences. From the Peabody Institute Library to the Danversport
Yacht Club, culture, entertainment and history come alive in Onion Town!
DANVERS
If you do decide to travel further than our own back
yard, here are some other suggestions . . . Whether biking to the Salem Willows, bird-watching at
Plum Island, or just catching the relaxing waves at Crane Beach, the
outdoor adventurer will find plenty to do on Cape Ann. ACTIVITIES
Famed for it's ocean-fresh seafood, including clams,
oysters, and bluefish, the Boston area boasts some of the best
seafood restaurants in the world. Also, Boston is a very diverse
community, and an influx of international cuisine makes it a great place
to explore for those with a discriminating palate! RESTAURANTS
Although Columbus may have been completely mistaken
about where he landed, other travelers did begin settling in this area nearly 400
years ago. With the help of the local indigenous peoples, the colonists
survived, and eventually thrived. The history of the North Shore is
among the earliest example of European immigrants in what we now call
America. Learn about their journeys -- the Salem merchants, or the witch trials, or
the Rebecca Nurse House. HISTORY
Boston is known for it's fever-pitched athletics, but
there's a whole lot more than just the Red Sox, Bruins, Patriots or Revolution. Tune in
to North Shore Sports, or join a local league for a
month. You'd be
welcome!
