Some Highlights!

The Museums of Massachusetts

One of the largest museums on the east coast, PEM features more than 27 galleries and a constantly changing array of exhibitions and programs.
There are a wide variety of museums in Massachusetts, from the world famous Museum of Fine Arts in Boston to the lesser known Salem Wax Museum to the amusing Museum of Bad Art or Museum of Dirt.  If you're searching for information about a specific museum, check out this site . . .  Make sure to notice that Boston and Cambridge have their own pages . . .

Our personal recommendations include: The Peabody Essex Museum, the MFA, the Children's Museum, the little-known Isabella Stuart Gardner Museum and the Museum of Science.  If you find a museum worthy of praise, let us know!

A local Salem destination for many -- the Wharf was where local commerce took hold. Now a blend of restaurants and tourist destinations, not to be missed!

Salem Maritime, the first National Historic Site in the National Park System, was established to preserve and interpret the maritime history of New England and the United States.

Welcome aboard the schooner Fame of Salem,
a replica of the successful privateer from the War of 1812.
